Writer and photographer since the mid-1980s, specialising in travel (mostly France) and the outdoors (walking guides, mainly to Wales, the Lake District, the Pennines and the Scottish islands). Based in Lancashire, but frequently somewhere else, and theoretically retired.
In recent years my focus has been on updating and revising the several books I have with Cicerone Press, and writing for Cumbria and Lake District Walker magazine.
