October 2013: OWPG Award for Excellence (Outdoor Book) for Great Mountain Days in the Pennines.

October 2008: OWPG Award for Excellence (Words and Features) for 'An Oasis of Calm', a feature about the département of Tarn, published in Living France magazine.

In November 2007 I received the Award for the Best Internet Writing about France from the Association of British Travel Operators in France (ABTOF).

A little bit of French culture, but in 2005 I was made a Chevalier de la Commanderie du Saulte-Buchon by the champagne makers of Aube en Champagne.



In November 2003, 'The Magic of the Scottish Islands', published by David and Charles, was Highly Commended in the OWG Awards for Excellence (Outdoor Book category).

In November 2001, 'Essential England' published by the AA, was Highly Commended in the OWG Awards for Excellence (Guidebook category), and Terry's submission in the Photographic category was favourably commented upon by the judges.

In June 2001, my Official Guide to the Lake District National Park (illustrated by Jon Sparks ARPS) was Highly Commended in the Lakeland Book of the Year Awards. Published by David and Charles (Pevensey).

In September 2000, I received the OWG Award for Excellence (Guidebook category) for my guidebook to the Shropshire Way (co-authored with and illustrated by Julie Meech ARPS). Published by Cicerone Press.

In June 1999, Towns and Villages of Cumbria (published by Sigma Press) was Highly Commended in the Lakeland Book of the Year Awards.

In 1994, my Cicerone guide to the Northern Coast to Coast Walk received the OWG Award for Excellence (Guidebook category).
